Do an Internet search for that picture. It explains the greatness of Kim Yu-na perfectly. She's smiling — elegant, beautiful — on about 20 TVs. The men are frozen, and it seems like she has entranced the world. The photo was taken during the figure skater's world-record performance in the short program that night. But after watching Kim's free skate Thursday, after watching her shatter another world record, after watching her own an intriguing and gifted field, you're left to wonder if any country, any gender, any living thing with eyeballs would dare stop staring at this 19-year-old phenom.

As announced here earlier, Andrew Koenig, the son of Star Trek TOS star Walter Koenig, was found dead Thursday of an apparent suicide. Friends and Family of Andrew went to 1,000 acre Stanley Park on Thursday and made the discovery of Andrew's body themselves, according to the Boston Globe. They found Koenig's body in a heavily wooded area 100 feet of what is called The Bridal Path. It could not be seen from walking along a path.
Walter Koenig was nearby when his son's body was discovered. ; Over last weekend, and the week before, friends and family of Andrew Koenig used the Facebook page of burlesque artist Jenny Magenta, with whom Andrew stayed with. For reasons not known to this blogger, Jenny's entire Facebook page is down, gone.
The observation that Andrew Koenig committed suicide has not yet been officially confirmed as of this writing.

America has spoken once again via their voting for the musical talent on American Idol. In tonight's American Idol results 2010, several hopefuls had their dreams temporarily shattered when they were part of tonight's eliminations. So who got voted off American Idol this week? So far this past week (February 21-24) has seen four of the talented singing sensations sent home. First up, the announcement of Janell Wheeler being sent home may have shocked many fans. Janell had offered up her rendition of "What About Love" by Heart. Other female contestants Siobhan, Hayley, Michelle, Katelyn and Katie were all safe from this week's elimination. Paige, Lacey, Lilly, Crystal and Didi also made the cut, but unfortunately Ashley's Idol appearances have come to an end. Ashley chose the Leona Lewis song "Happy" for her performance on stage.;

I caught an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I think E! was running a marathon or something. Have you seen this show? I mean, I have. But I’m assuming your television standards are higher than mine. Since I’ll pretty much watch anything. But I stopped watching KUWTK after its series premiere because it upset me and I couldn’t handle how much Khloe Kardashian looked like Chyna. I’m talking about Chyna the wrestler, fyi. However, I recently watched the Kardashians’ E! True Hollywood Story and found the family’s back story interesting so I decided to give the show another shot.
Now, for those of you who aren’t familiar with the Kardashians they’re basically, at this point, known for being related to Kim Kardashian. Kim who’s best known for a leaked sex-tape with Ray-J and having a big butt. Literally. As previously stated, I watched their THS, that is all Kim’s fame is based on. But(t) the Kardashians were also family friends of the Simpsons back during the OJ Simpson trial days. Like I said, interesting family history. Anyway, I want to review the episode I just watched so here’s a brief summary of who’s who and what’s what on KUWTK.
On the Kardashian side we have Kris Jenner, who was once married to the late Robert Kardashian, and together they had four children: Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Robert Jr. Then we have Kris’ current husband Bruce Jenner. Bruce was/is still considered an Olympic icon. Apparently he performed really well at the ‘76 summer Olympics. But that was before I was even born, so who cares? Bruce has four children of his own though. One of whom is Brody Jenner. Sound familiar? That’s because Brody’s one of the douche bags on The Hills. Lastly, Kris and Bruce have two children together, Kendall and Kylie. They look like they’re about 10 and 11.
Okay, so living in the Kardashian house is Kris, Bruce, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Robert Jr, Kendall, and Kylie. One big happy family. I believe E!’s tagged them as being “A Modern Day Brady Bunch.” I guess. If the Brady children suffered through sex tape scandals and chummed it up with Paris Hilton. Right, but anyway, there are all these crazy people living under one roof and so naturally, chaos ensues.
My Review:
This episode begins by recapping last week’s show. Apparently Kim fought with Khloe and Kourtney over a Bentley she was purchasing. I don’t know, something about Kim being convinced Khloe and Kourtney are jealous because they can’t afford to buy their own. It’s stupid but probably true. Anyway it led to Kim knocking her purse over Khloe’s head while Khloe ate a Chipotle Burrito Bowl, resulting, somehow, in Kim not wanting to speak to her or Kourtney ever again.
Now for the current ep. Kris, being the peacemaker she is, planned a mini vacay at some ski resort in Colorado with the entire family, thinking that the getaway will magically bring everyone together. That Kris, she’s like a modern day Ghandi. So the entire episode is set in Colorado.
The program opens with the family’s airport arrival. As soon as they step outside we see that Bruce rented a Hummer, and it’s clear Bruce is entering the first stages of a mid-life crisis. Everyone laughs at Bruce, then Kim and Khloe fight some more.
The family reaches their destination. We watch as they step into their ski-resort dream house. Seriously, this house is so nice. I don’t want to think about it. But within eight seconds Kim logs onto her computer and begins ichatting with her boyfriend, Reggie something. Reggie Miller? Reggie Bush? I think he’s a football player. The clan finds Kim’s behavior annoying and Bruce tells Kim she is computerized, which is something an old person would say. Kim hits back with, “No one wants me to be happy!” And audiences across the nation all agree that truer words have never been spoken.
Next we watch Bruce zip into a snowboarding outfit obviously made for a 16 year old. The family makes fun of him. And rightfully so. Then it’s off to the slopes.
Lots of skiing, snowboarding shots, etc. The camera fades in on Kourtney and Khloe laughing hysterically as they fall off the ski lift and somersault down a hill. Kim, in a talking-head, expresses her emotions at this moment. She is lonely. She feels dejected. We’re then shown Kim, by herself, snowboarding downward at a speed of .3 mph. Symbolizing how alone Kim feels on the inside, and the slow pace at which her brain functions.
Later on, back at the house we all, for about two minutes, watch Kim text her boyfriend. Bruce is all, “I hate texting! No one talks anymore! I am old!” And Kris is all, “No one is having fun on my vacay!” Kris then attempts to grab Kim’s phone from her. Big mistake. Kim subsequently, in a fit of fury, charges up the stairs and everyone’s in the dark as to what’s about to occur. But in the meantime the entire family, Bruce and Kris included, chant in unison, “Kim is mature! Kim is mature!” Indicating just how mature they themselves are. Kim steps out onto staircase and throws an object to the floor. We see it is Kris’ phone. Payback, it sure is a bitch.
Kim runs to her room and begins to cry. The remaining family members realize that chanting an insult about Kim may have upset her. In between sobs Kim cries that she feels like everyone’s ganging up on her, and tells them they’re rude. Kourtney can’t help but laugh at her and in a talking-head explains it’s because when Kim cries she makes an ugly crying face. This makes me think of Claire Danes’ ugly crying face. Nothing is resolved.
Minutes later we hear a doorbell and in comes a party of seven or eight 20 year-olds. Some male ski instructors Bruce befriended on the slopes. He invited them over for beer and pizza. Again, the mid-life crisis. In a talking-head Kourtney reveals Bruce is going through menopause, which works out well because Kris too is going through menopause. You know, Kourtney’s pretty of funny.

The show will continue onward from February 9 at its new timeslot of Tuesdays at 9 pm with a total of 18 episodes airing in 16 broadcasts, ending with a three-hour, two-part series finale in May 2010. Jeremy Davies, Henry Ian Cusick, Rebecca Mader, and Elizabeth Mitchell, who played Daniel Faraday, Desmond Hume, Charlotte Lewis, and Juliet Burke, respectively, left the show at the end of the fifth season. All of them will reprise their characters for the sixth season. New main cast members are Nestor Carbonell as Richard Alpert, Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus, and Zuleikha Robinson as Ilana. Emilie de Ravin will also return as main character Claire Littleton after being absent for season 5.

Nikon Coolpix P100 26x Superzoom: Their First 1080p Video Camera 2010
It is a superzoom—26x (26mm-678mm), which is a little shorter than what Fuji or Olympus dropped over the last couple of days—which I'm admittedly prone to disliking, but there's a lot here in what's easily Nikon's flagship point-and-shoot.
It's the first Coolpix to switch to CMOS, cutting back to 10 megapixels to deliver hopefully better low light performance, along with built-in HDR processing. And, Nikon's first ever camera to do 1080p video, which I was told is in H.264. Hot shit, 'cause it makes me hopeful to see that in their next DSLRs. Also excellent: You can actually zoom while recording video, something of a rarity in these parts. It shoots fast too: 10FPS at full res, and up to 120FPS bursts (but only at 1.1MP, bleh).

Sound Waves Being Used to Treat Strokes 2010 modern
Neurologists have built an ultrasound device which uses focused sound waves to destroy stroke-causing blood clots in brains. The procedure is non-invasive—requiring no drugs or surgery—and is already being tested on patients. The machine and procedure allows doctors to "surround the head with an array of transducers that can focus ultrasound beams on a single spot in the brain without damaging the skull." Begun, the Tablet Wars Have: HP's Slate Wants to Undercut the iPad 2010
Even if you hate Apple, you can't deny they set the tone. The WSJ reports that while HP announced their Slate first, they waited for the iPad unveil to make changes, like the price—which they plan to undercut. HP wants to come in under $630 for their full Windows 7 Slate. A tall order, considering that even Asus and MSI, skilled as they are in the art of undercutting, furrowed their collective brows at the iPad's cheaper-than-expected pricing. And apparently Acer's already backtracking on their promise not to make iPad competitors, with Sumit Agnihotry, a marketing veep at Acer telling the WSJ that working on stuff in between a phone and laptop, and that "Acer plans to introduce possibly more iPad-like devices." Then there's Dell, who found via consumer research what they really want is a five-inch slate for browsing. So voila. Let's not forget JooJoo or Lenovo, either. And Super Kindle!
Sony DSC-TX5 Rugged Camera is Slim, Slightly Wimpy, But HDR and Panoramic Ready
Welcome to the rugged camera game, Sony. Your TX5 impresses me with its deck-of-cards size Zeiss lens, and 14-degree rating, but at 10 feet of waterproofness and 5 feet of shock resistance, you're a little fragile. Other cameras, like the just released Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2, are rated to around 30 feet of depth with respectable image quality. And the Casio EX-G1 is practically as small, although not nearly as capable of a camera. Still, I respect Sony point and shoots, and this one could be one of the most street friendly because of its sensor and some neat software. The camera has a 10.2 megapixel "Exmor R" CMOS low light sensor, has optical stabilization (handy in a rugged camera) and 10 fps burst modes. (We suspect it has similar guts to the WX1.) Another neat trick is the Intelligent Sweep Panorama, which can stitch together up to 100 separate captures by face matching and judging motion, adjusting them for lens warp to make a huge single image. There's also built in high dynamic range processing which combined bracketed photos. Ideal for capturing detail in sunny or snowy scenes. And smile capture which triggers the shutter when the camera detects a toothy grin or a timer mode that snaps the shot when heads show up in frame. The camera also captures 720p video at 30 frames per second with a special mode that'll allow for 10 times the lens movement to adjust for shake. Without having used this camera, I'd say it's ideal as a good solid slim point and shoot that can occasionally hit the outdoors. It'll go for $350 this April." sonny Gizmo"

This unveiling was done at this year’s Mobile World Congress, where it is touted to be really different from all of the other handsets. At first glance, this looks like some sort of Neonode and HTC hybrid in terms of form factor, and on its back you find an eco-friendly feature that could very well catch on in future cellphone designs – a solar panel that allows you to juice up the PUMA phone everywhere you go as long as there is sufficient sunlight. Granted, this won’t be able to replace the power outlet, but it could provide just enough power for you to hold one more conversation during an emergency.

As noted by the Post's Dan Eggen, the poll's findings show "remarkably strong agreement" across the board, with roughly 80% of Americans saying that they're against the Court's 5-4 decision. Even more remarkable may be that opposition by Republicans, Democrats, and Independents were all near the same 80% opposition range. Specifically, 85% of Democrats, 81% of Independents, and 76% of Republicans opposed it. In short, "everyone hates" the ruling.

Well, it's happening. Look no further than the past few years.Heading into the 2010 Olympics, the United States has five hockey teams that are reigning international champions. By comparison, Canada has one.
"In years before, USA Hockey teams were going into tournaments hoping to win," said defenceman Jack Johnson of the Los Angeles Kings and the 2010 Olympic men's team. "Now, they go in expecting to win."
Indeed.Their women are the two-time defending world champions. Ditto their under-18 women.Their under-20 men won gold at the world junior championship in Saskatchewan last month, toppling Jordan Eberle's magic and Canada's five-time champions.
Days earlier, their best 16-year-olds beat an Ontario outfit in the world under-17 challenge. Last year in North Dakota, their under-18 club beat ours at the world championship, and won gold on home soil.
Canada? The women won gold at the 2006 Turin Olympics. Other than that, we have squat when it comes to international hockey bragging rights."It's great that were winning world juniors, under-18s, but we've got to start winning world championships and tournaments like this," American forward Zach Parise said of the Olympics. "But I think that we are on the right track."According to the International Ice Hockey Federation, Canada has 499,695 registered hockey players. The United States has 465,975.In Canada, that number includes many elite athletes, who chase Stanley Cup dreams in the country's most popular sport. In the U.S., many of the top athletes are funnelled to football, basketball and baseball.But that, too, is changing."We're getting players from more and more places across the country," said USA Hockey executive director Jim Johannson, citing California specifically. "Our comment has always been: ‘Boy, just think if John Elway played hockey.'."Elway was a Super Bowl-winning quarterback with the Denver Broncos, but he was also a second-round draft pick of baseball's New York Yankees. Some of their best players, including Windsor Spitfires defenceman Cam Fowler, continue to flee to the Canadian Hockey League.But USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, based in Ann Arbor, Mich., is starting to bare its teeth. It's a centralized program for elite, under-18 players and designed to improve the Americans' chances on the international stage.It has produced players such as Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks, Ryan Kesler of the Vancouver Canucks, and Phil Kessel of the Toronto Maple Leafs. All three made the 2010 Olympic team."This is all part of the vision of USA Hockey going back a few years, putting the program together in Ann Arbor, committing to elite development rather than just leaving players spread all over and trying to be the best they can," said Brian Burke, general manager of the men's Olympic team and the Leafs. "We were getting guys who were the best player in a group of ‘B' players and now we are getting all the ‘A' players together and I think it's the best decision that USA Hockey ever made."
